United Future’s initial outline of its business policy indicates an understanding of the needs of enterprise and a desire to generate a business-friendly environment, says Business NZ.
Business NZ Chief Executive Phil O’Reilly says the commitments outlined by United Future Leader Peter Dunne today will need to be supported with more detail, but appear consistent with some of the policies sought by many in business:
· Improving infrastructure
· Reviewing and improving the Resource Management Act
· Reducing company tax to 30%
· Enshrining property rights in the Bill of Rights Act
· Improving the grievance and dismissal procedures and allowing for new employee trial periods in the Employment Relations Act
“Business NZ would like to see these commitments and those of other political parties fully debated before the election. We would like to see other parties also promoting their business policies in plenty of time for this to happen,” Mr O’Reilly said.
