New Chief Executive for Business NZ

Business NZ President Terry Arnold today announced the appointment of Phil O’Reilly as Chief Executive of Business NZ.

Mr O’Reilly has most recently been Head of Employment Policy and Communication for the Westpac Banking Corporation in Sydney. Prior to that he was Executive Director of the Newspaper Publishers Association of New Zealand and Chairman of the New Zealand Advertising Standards Authority during the 1990s, following a period in industrial relations advocacy.

Mr O’Reilly holds a Bachelor and Master of Arts with Honours from Auckland University and also trained at Stanford Business School and the Macquarie Graduate School of Management.

Mr Arnold said Business NZ was delighted to have recruited an executive of Phil O’Reilly’s calibre and experience to take the organisation forward.

Mr O'Reilly said he was looking forward to contributing to the debate in New Zealand on behalf of business. He will take up the appointment later in the year.
