A more competitive New Zealand

BusinessNZ has released its manifesto for the 2011 General Election.

BusinessNZ Chief Executive Phil O’Reilly said this year’s election was a significant one for the economy, and his organisation wanted to provide a yardstick against which parties’ policies could be measured.

“As we take steps towards recovery from the recent global financial crisis, the need for sound political leadership is even more urgent. Our need to elect a strong, fiscally responsible government is of the utmost importance.

“BusinessNZ’s manifesto A MORE COMPETITIVE NEW ZEALAND lists the issues that impact on economic growth and suggests policies that are needed for our businesses and economy to grow, in today’s challenging and competitive environment.”

Significant issues include taxation, infrastructure, currency, education, regulation and others.

BusinessNZ’s manifesto can be downloaded from www.businessnz.org.nz.
